ORIGINS

A partnership that began in 1978.

In 1978, Douglas Alberto Dreher invited Adair Zanatto to form a partnership. That meeting gave rise to a company that would become one of Latin America's most structured distributors of solutions for the printing industry.

A history built on close relationships, technical knowledge and commitment to those who print. From the beginning, Zanatto has connected technology to its customers' real production needs.

Our Curitiba headquarters has more than 5,000 m² of modern facilities, with administrative, storage, manufacturing and dispatch areas equipped to serve the printing industry.

Sales offices in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, representatives throughout Brazil and our own vehicle fleet connect this infrastructure to customers. Equipment and supplies arrive with speed, efficiency and close follow-up.

Foundation and start of operations

Mr. Douglas invites Mr. Adair to establish Zanatto. The company starts with seven people: five employees and the two founders.

The first premises are a residential house adapted for commercial use, with approximately 100 m² divided between offices and storage.

The initial portfolio includes:

  • Ozasol offset plates from Hoechst do Brasil.
  • Rotaprint offset presses.
  • Guarany guillotines.

Expansion in equipment sales

By 1982, Zanatto has sold 15 Rotaprint presses.

With the opening of Roland's factory in Brazil, the company begins selling Roland Prática presses in Paraná and Santa Catarina.

During this period, ABIMAQ helps Brazilian manufacturers structure their sales representation, proposing one representative per region. Zanatto is selected to operate exclusively in Paraná and Santa Catarina.

This includes Guarany guillotines, sold since the company's foundation, and equipment from Miruna, Elenco do Brasil, FEVA and Rical, including stitching and die-cutting machines.

Over the following ten years, Zanatto sells approximately 150 machines from these manufacturers.

Zanatto begins selling Kodak graphic films, expanding its prepress solutions portfolio.

Construction of the company's own headquarters begins

Zanatto begins building its own headquarters at Avenida Comendador Franco, 165, with approximately 1,000 m².

Zanatto begins operating at its own headquarters at Avenida Comendador Franco, 165, whose construction began in 1988.

With approximately 1,000 m², the new premises expand the company's facilities from the original 100 m².

Sale of the 100th Roland Prática

Zanatto reaches the sale of its 100th Roland Prática press across the Paraná and Santa Catarina markets.

The range includes quarter-sheet and half-sheet formats.

Agfa acquires Hoechst's five factories worldwide. Following this change, Zanatto begins selling Agfa products.

São Paulo branch opens and nationwide expansion

Zanatto opens its branch in the city of São Paulo.

Previously focused on southern Brazil, the company begins serving the entire country, marking a new stage of commercial expansion.

Porto Alegre branch opens

Zanatto opens its Porto Alegre branch, expanding its customer service infrastructure and strengthening its presence in southern Brazil.

Dedicated blanket manufacturing department

Zanatto establishes a department exclusively dedicated to blanket manufacturing, with a team assigned to this activity, expanding its ability to meet the needs of the offset market.

First direct import

Zanatto enters a period of greater commercial autonomy and begins directly importing Lastra offset plates from Italy.

This is its first direct import from an international manufacturer, opening a new phase of relationships with overseas suppliers.

Kodak offset plates

Kodak approaches Zanatto to sell its offset plates.

Zanatto adds these plates to its portfolio while continuing to sell Kodak graphic films.

Entry into flexography

Kodak starts its flexographic plate business and launches the Flexcel analog plate family.

Zanatto begins selling this family exclusively in Brazil, marking its entry into flexography.

First CtP for the offset segment

Zanatto sells its first CtP for the offset segment, the Kodak Magnus 400 F, supplied with Kodak Prinergy workflow.

The sale expands the portfolio with an integrated equipment and software solution for prepress.

Kodak launches Flexcel NX at drupa.

Zanatto sells the first system at launch and becomes the exclusive distributor of the technology in Brazil.

Zanatto installs the Kodak Flexcel NX CtP sold in 2008, introducing the technology to the Brazilian flexographic market.

Expansion of company premises

Zanatto expands its premises from 1,000 m² to 1,500 m², keeping pace with growing operations and providing more space for its activities and customer service.

First standalone Kodak Prinergy workflow sale

Zanatto sells Kodak Prinergy workflow independently for the first time, outside a CtP package.

Prinergy was already part of the solution supplied with the first offset CtP sold in 2008. The standalone sale marks a new stage in offering software for prepress management and automation.

Kodak launches Sonora offset plates, and Zanatto begins converting several customers to this new technology, marking a new stage of offset innovation.

Zanatto reaches 700,000 m² of Kodak Sonora offset plates sold in one year.

Historic milestone: 100 Kodak Prinergy workflows

Zanatto reaches the historic milestone of 100 Kodak Prinergy workflows sold, combining standalone software sales and sales in complete packages with Kodak CtPs.

This achievement includes customers who migrated from competing workflows and companies investing in the integrated Kodak CtP + Prinergy solution.

One hundred workflows sold: a milestone that establishes Zanatto as a provider of software, automation and integration solutions for prepress.

Building the support and services team

Zanatto begins structuring its support and services department, building on a team of three product specialists already supporting customers.

The company expands the team’s skills by bringing in hardware specialists with varied backgrounds and technical expertise, preparing it to meet customer needs more comprehensively.

This lays the foundation for a team that will also contribute to the development of new technologies in the following years.

Ten years after selling its first offset CtP, Zanatto reaches 100 Kodak units sold for the segment.

The milestone establishes the company as a provider of technology, specialist knowledge and technical support, reflecting the trust built throughout its history.

Zanatto installs the 20th Flexcel NX system in Brazil, expanding the country’s installed base of this technology.

In 2022, Zanatto sells its 122nd Kodak CtP for offset. A coincidence makes this achievement even more memorable: the year ends in 22, and the unit sold is number 122.

The milestone reflects a continuing history built on customer trust, technological evolution and specialist support.
